DESCRIPTION:Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines (JGFP) is pleased to announce the JGFP World Junior Team Championship 2026\, which will be held between April 16-19\, 2026\, at Apo Golf & Country Club in Davao City.   The organizing committee\, along with the Board of Directors\, would like to invite 4 of your players in Division 1\, 13-18\, Division 2\, 9-12 & Division 3\, 8 & under\, to participate in the championship. Cut off birthdate as of March 31\, 2026   The golf course is lined with varieties of unique tropical trees like coconut and mahogany\, as well as frequently scattered with sand traps\, and designed with many water hazards. The golf course is named after one of the biggest mountains in the Philippines\, which can be seen at hole no. 10. The championship will be played over 54 holes for Division 1 & 2 and 36 Hole for Division 3. The format for computing the team score shall be 4 to play with 3 to count\, stroke play. b. All teams playing in the Division 1\, 2\, 3 will play regular Stroke Play The 3 players with the lowest scores will count as the team score for the day. The total score after 3 rounds shall be the team score for the championship. The returning the lowest score shall be declared as the winner/champion in the division. All other prizes and awards will be based on scores submitted. Mandatory double par pick-up for Division 2 & 3. c. There will be 2 groups: \n\nC1 Country Group for a team that is composed for players representing 1 country\nC2 Association International Group for a team composed of players representing more than 1 country\n\nd. A team of 4 players may be composed of all boys or all girls or a mixed combination\, provided that they belong to 1 same group (group 1\, group 2\, group 3). e. Disqualification of any team members in any round under the Rules of Golf shall not be effective for any subsequent round unless the Tournament Committee determines the Individual Competition   All participants are eligible for the Individual Competition. Recognition will be given to the winners in both Boy’s & Girl’s category according to the groups stated in the Awards portion.   \nVI.                 TIME OF STARTING\n Pairings will be posted 1 day before the tournament. A player of any team who fails to show up on time on any day of the competition will still be allowed to play. However\, he or she will not get points for the holes already missed. Team ties shall be broken by a sudden-death playoff counting the low four scores relative to par on each hole. Play shall continue with new scoring on each successive hole until a winner is determined. If possible\, all playoffs will begin on the first tee; however\, the committee will determine starting holes. If the playoff involves more than 2 teams\, a shotgun format will be used.   \nIndividual Competition –\nIf playoff is not possible due to darkness and schedule countback as follows better last day player score. All ties for the individual competition shall be decided via a play-off. Play-off holes will be determined by the Tournament Committee. Count back procedure will determine the winner in the event of darkness\, unplayable weather conditions\, etc. The player with the higher point aggregate on the final round (last eighteen holes – 1 to 18)\, shall be ranked higher. If still tied\, the total points on holes 10 to 18 shall be used. If still tied\, the points scored on holes 13 to 18 shall be used. If still tied\, the score on holes 16 to 18 will be used. If the tie is still not broken\, a hole-by-hole count-back from hole 18 down to hole 1 shall be made.   \nX.                   CADDIES\nOnly accredited caddies of Apo Golf & Country Club are allowed for players in the competition. Coaches\, parents\, guardians\, etc. are allowed for Division 3 (8&under) provided that the player still gets the services of a club caddy whose role is limited to being a forward caddy and assisting in the maintenance of the course. Forecaddies are not allowed on the green and cannot assist personal caddies such as yardage\, target\, and breaks on the green. Forecaddies\, however\, will be allowed to hold the umbrella of players. Caddies must refrain from over-coaching. The caddy must help the player hit each shot within a reasonable period. The player shall play without undue delay\, which is defined as taking no more than 40 seconds to play a shot\, counting from the time his/her turn to play is up. If a player takes more than 40 seconds\, he or she will be subjected to a penalty. The first violation: a warning; the second violation\, a stroke penalty and every violation thereafter\, a two-stroke penalty. All penalties will be decided by the tournament director. The 40-second rule is put into place to prevent over-coaching and slow play. Personal Caddies are allowed for 10-year-olds and below.   \n\nPACE OF PLAY (Rule 6)\n\nCompetitors will be notified of the time allowed for a round. The time will be broken down into timings for each individual hole. If\, during a round\, a group has exceeded the time allowed for the number of holes played and has fallen behind the group in front of them it is liable to be warned and the players individually timed by an appointed Official. The maximum time allowed for a shot is 40 seconds. However\, an extra 10 seconds is allowed for the first player to play: \n\nTee shot on a par 3\nSecond shot on par 4’s and par 5’s.\n\nFrom on or near the putting green at any hole. The timing will start when it is the player’s turn to play and there is no interference or distraction. If whilst being timed\, a player exceeds the time allowed on a shot he will be deemed to have “a bad time”.   \nPenalty for Breach of Condition\n1 bad time                       –      the player will be warned by an Official and told that if he has a further bad time\, he will be penalized 2nd bad time                  –      One stroke Subsequent bad time    –      Pick-up (Zero points on hole) A player whose group has been timed will have a bad time carried forward in the round even if the group subsequently arrives back in position in relation to the group in front or within its allotted time. The committee may apply a penalty for undue delay (Rule 5.6) without prior warning to a group that is seriously out of position at the end of the round.   \nXII.               Spectators / Gallery\nSpectators/Gallery shall be allowed. AS A GENERAL RULE\, SPECTATORS WILL WALK THE WHOLE DURATION OF THE TOURNAMENT. The tournament committee may release carts to TEAM CAPTAINS and the gallery\, depending on cart availability. It is a privilege for parents\, guardians\, and spectators to watch the junior golfers during the tournament. However\, this privilege may be taken away if a violation of the SPECTATOR GUIDELINES is incurred. All spectators must register at the registration desk and pay the necessary gallery fee (if any) before entering the fairway. The JGFP Code of Conduct shall be posted at the Registration Area. Players\, parents & guardians are obliged to comply with the JGFP Code of Conduct. The Tournament Director shall take proper action on any controversies and issues pertaining to any violation of the JGFP Code of Conduct.   \nXIII.              COMMITTEE\nThe Tournament Committee will be responsible for the administration of the competition. Disputes\, if any\, will be settled by the tournament officials headed by the tournament director whose decisions shall be final. The competition shall be deemed closed as soon as the official results are posted on the Player’s Information Board. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to amend the rules and regulations during the duration of the tournament for the best interest of the tournament. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
