The quartet of Justin Quiban, Julius Quiban, Perry Josef Bucay and Pierre Ticzon ruled the 2019 JGFP Alumni-Junior Golf Classic on December 23 held at the Aguinaldo Golf Club in Quezon City.

The champion team finished with 65 points to win by one point over first runners-up Aidric Chan, Miguel Ilas, Carl Corpus, and Paolo Wong.

SEA Games gold medalist Bianca Pagdanganan led her team for a second-runner up post with 63, banking on the efforts of teammates Jed Dy, Reese Ng, and Celine Abalos.

Jorge Gallent emerged as Batch 1980’s champion by scoring 51 points followed by second placer Abe Rosal with 47.

National Golf Association of the Philippines secretary-general Bones Floro proved his mettle with 50 points and won by two against Jake Corporal in the Batch 1990’s division.

Pro player James Ryan Lam carded a 54 and romped away with 8-point victory versus Gene Bondoc in the Batch 2000’s.

Another pro Justin Quiban topped the Batch 2010 by winning via countback against Pagdanganan after both golfers had identical 54 points.

SEAG bronze medalist Carl Corpus took the spotlight in 13-18 division with his 57 points, subduing Miguel Ilas by four while Santino Pineda won via countback against Jakob Taruc at 45 in the 12-under category.

The Alumni-Classic saw 107 participants including IMG junior 2019 winner Chan, SEAG team gold medalist Lois Kaye Go, SEAG team bronze medalist Luis Castro, and Sean Jean Ramos, national team player Rupert Zaragosa, and 2018 PGT Order of Merit champion Jobim Carlos.

The tournament was backed by Camp Aguinaldo, Summit Ridge, Hotel Carlitos, Pacsports Inc., KIT, Banana Peel, DPWH Binalbagan, GCH International Mercantile, Inc., MLVSPORTS INC., and Handog Group of Companies.

The fundraising charity event aims to help the children of caddies with limited means but with strong passion to grow their game as well as fund other Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines (JGFP) projects.
