Playing to pay it forward, past and present players of the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines will see action in the JGFP Alumni-Junior Golf Classic slated on December 23 at the Aguinaldo Golf Course in Quezon City.
Asian Games and Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Bianca Pagdanganan will rise to show her prowess as one of the notable alumni participating in the charity tournament.
Many alumni considered Aguinaldo as their home course after much of the jungolf tournaments in the past were held there.
The fundraising event aims to help the children of caddies with limited means but with a strong passion to grow their game as well as fund other JGFP projects.
It is also a chance for alumni to reconnect with fellow alumni and with the new breed of jungolfers.
Besides Pagdanganan, some other notable alumni playing are Aguinaldo Golf Club 1976 National Boys Champion Abe Rosal, Callaway Junior World Champion (2010) Rupert Zaragosa, SEAG gold medalist LK Go (team), touring pros including Cyna Rodriguez, Marvi Monsalve, and Ryan Lam, teaching professional Mic Que, and NGAP secretary-general Bones Floro.
Also supporting and actively promoting the jungolf development in their own capacity are Mary Grace Estuesta, Ramon Brobio, Carito Villaroman, Rhoneil Cousart, and Raymund Sangil.
Alumni will team up with their junior counterpart as a way of mentoring the future golf standouts.
Ceremonial tee off, which starts at 7 a.m., will be led by NGAP Secretary-General Bones Floro, The Junior Golfers League president Chona Dela Paz, and past JGFP president Sam Pagdanganan.
