Santino Diokno powered a four-under to snare the overall crown in the Valley Golf Junior Golf Championships held last May 26 at the Valley Golf North Course in Antipolo, Rizal.
Diokno came four strokes ahead of first runner-up Rho Hyun Ho while second runner-up Jet Hernandez settled for 66 in the boys’ 13-14 category.
Jaime Alabastro finished with 83 net to send Jakob Taruc at second with an 84 followed Rajah Crisostomo, Zac Blanco, and Hanson Lim in the Valley Golf 12-under boys’ division.
The girl’s side was topped by Gabie Rosca at 72 with Nicole Gan and Christiana Castillo wounding up at second and third, respectively.
Meanwhile, Julianna Go and Jinwoo Baek shone in the 13-18 categories to seal their victory with a trophy.
The JGFP, on the other hand, honored the top players in every age groups.
Jakob Taruc posted an 84 to best his rivals in the 10-under category. Crisostomo was one stroke behind the leader while Gabriel See won via countback with a 94.
In the boys’ 11-12, Jaime Alabastro scored an 83 to beat Zac Blanco (90) and Hanson Lim (92) while Gabie Rosca clipped the girls’ diadem followed by Christiana Castillo.
Baek returned in the podium after finishing first in the boys’ 13-14 with Pierre Ticzon at second and Franco Rivera at third. Juliana Go was named the top player in the girls’ corner.
Gan, Ramos, and Chloe Rada completed the top 3 players in the girls’ 10-under while Gabie Rosca and Christiana Castillo took control of the 11-12 division.
Baek subdued Pierre Ticzon and Franco Rivera to cop the boys’ 15-18 honors.
The Valley Golf Junior Golf Championships was a certified Junior Order of Merit ranking event and was sanctioned by the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines.
