Rho Hyun Ho copped the overall championship by carding 73 net in the Mount Malarayat Junior Golf Championships last April 28 in Lipa City, Batangas.
Santino Laurel, meanwhile, finished with 77 to top the boy’s 13-18 division.
Laurel was followed by Jacob Rolida (79), David Guangko (81), Santino Diokno (81), and James Lubguban (86).
In the girl’s 12 and under, Anya Cedo pulled off an 86 to beat Nicole Gan by five strokes, 91, while Reese Ng settled for third at 92. Grabbing the last two spots were Arianna Ramos and Chloe Rada, who were at the distance at 109 and 116, respectively.
Santino Pineda flexed its muscle by dominating the boy’s 12 and under with net of 81.
Pineda blasted Bhuvas Nagpal, who sizzled with an 88 followed by Luis Ballesteros (92), Rajah Crisostomo (94), and Rocco Pineda (97) in the same division.
Julianna Go reigned supreme in the girls 13-18 as well as in the girls 13-14 age-group with 108 net.
The tournament also honored the top three players based on their JGFP age-group.
Laurel topped the boy’s 15-18 followed by Rolida and Guangko while overall winner Rho Hyun Ho led the charge in the 13-14 class together with Diokno and Lubguban.
The boy’s 11-12 was bannered by Santino Pineda, Nagpal, and Del Rosario while Ballesteros, Crisostomo, and Rocco Pineda outshined their rivals in the 10-under class.
Cedo and Ng took the command in the girl’s 11-12 along with girl’s 10 and under top finishers Gan, Ramos, and Rada.
The Mount Malarayat Junior Golf Championship assembled 50 players in the tournament sanctioned by the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines.
The tournament is a duly ranking event of the Junior Order of Merit, which classifies player using the Score-Based System.
JGFP is a non-profit organization dedicated to the growth and development of junior golf in the country in order to create a competitive and fun environment, and help these players develop their skills and positively builds their character.
